Accommodation and Facilities

Accommodation and all meals will be in John XXIII College, a residential college of the ANU. All students have private rooms. All sporting facilities available to ANU staff and students are available to NMSS students. Thus, students are able to play a range of sports, including tennis, squash and basketball. There is a heated Olympic pool in the city, a fifteen minute walk from Bruce Hall.

The NMSS is staffed by selected volunteers. Course leaders are normally university mathematicians, while post-graduate students, mathematics teachers, and mathematicians serve as tutors. Staff and students live together in Bruce Hall, and the NMSS is virtually a 24-hour a day commitment. By the end of the program, students regard the staff as their friends and colleagues, and there is no doubt that the NMSS leads to many lifelong personal and professional friendships among the students.
